Cookie Notice

Last updated: May 11, 2026

The short version

Bivy uses a small number of cookies and similar storage. Some are essential — without them you would have to sign in every visit and the app would not work properly. Others are optional and only run if you accept them. You can change your mind at any time.

1. What are cookies and similar storage

Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to save. The next time you visit, your browser sends those files back, which lets the site remember things — like the fact that you are signed in, or what your preferences are.

Modern web apps also use other storage on your device that works the same way for our purposes. Bivy uses two related browser features: localStorage for some longer-term preferences, and sessionStorage for short-lived data that clears automatically when you close the tab. Throughout this page, the word “cookie” covers all three (real cookies, localStorage, and sessionStorage), since the privacy implications are similar.

2. How Bivy uses them

We use them to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, understand how Bivy is used, and process payments. Nothing else.

We split our cookies into three categories:

  • Strictly necessary — required to make Bivy work. Always on, no consent needed under GDPR because Bivy literally cannot function without them.
  • Analytics — help us understand how Bivy is used so we can improve it. Optional. Only run if you accept them.
  • Payments — set by Stripe on pages where you can subscribe or manage billing. Required to process payments and prevent fraud.

3. Strictly necessary

Required to sign you in, remember your preferences, and run the app. Cannot be disabled.

4. Analytics

Help us understand which features matter and where people get stuck. Only set if you accept analytics cookies in the consent banner.

We use Google Analytics to measure traffic and understand how people use Bivy. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, remarketing, or audience targeting. If you reject analytics cookies, none of the items below are set on your device.

5. Payments

Stripe sets a few cookies on pages where you can subscribe or manage billing. These are required for secure payment processing.

When you visit a page that loads Stripe checkout — such as our pricing or billing pages — Stripe sets a small number of cookies for fraud prevention and session continuity. These cookies are essential to processing payments and are not used to track you across other websites.

Stripe's privacy practices are described at stripe.com/privacy.

6. Changing your mind

You can update your cookie preferences at any time.

The first time you visit Bivy, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. You can change your answer later by:

  • Clicking the Cookie preferences link in your account settings (if you are signed in).
  • Clicking the Cookie preferences link in the footer of our marketing pages.

If you change your choice from accept to reject, we stop running analytics immediately and clear any analytics cookies that were already set.

7. Browser controls

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies directly through browser settings. Be aware that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent Bivy from working — you will not be able to stay signed in.
